Why partner with us

50 years of vision. One shared mission.

Our club exists because of a partnership — with the Eye Foundation of America and its flagship Indian institution, Goutami Eye Institute. Here's who they are and how the work fits together.

Goutami Eye Institute — See For Yourself

Eye Foundation of America & Goutami Eye Institute

For nearly 50 years, the Eye Foundation of America (EFA) has been committed to eliminating avoidable blindness through sustainable eye care, innovation, and capacity building. To advance this mission in India, EFA established Goutami Eye Institute (GEI) in 2005 in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.

Today, GEI serves as EFA's flagship institution in India — combining clinical excellence, community outreach, pediatric eye health, and professional training, so that quality vision care reaches people regardless of their ability to pay.

Why partner with us

Five reasons this partnership works.

01

50 years of global impact

A track record spanning half a century of on-the-ground eye care work.

02

Community-centered

Built around local screening and outreach, not just hospital walk-ins.

03

Scalable & sustainable

A model designed to grow with demand rather than max out quickly.

04

Aligned with the SDGs

Directly supports Good Health & Well-Being, Quality Education, and Partnerships for the Goals.

05

High return on investment

Vision is one of the highest-return investments in public health — every rupee goes far.

The care model

From first screening to a stronger health system.

This is the seven-step model Goutami Eye Institute runs, and the one our club plugs into at the community level.

  1. 01

    Community Screening

Local camps and school visits bring eye checks directly to underserved areas.

  2. 02

    Early Detection

Catching conditions — including ROP in premature infants — before they become irreversible.

  3. 03

    Affordable Treatment

Care accessible regardless of a family's ability to pay.

  4. 04

    Specialized Surgery

Sight-restoring surgeries for cases that need more than corrective lenses.

  5. 05

    Rehabilitation

Supporting patients as they adapt and recover after treatment.

  6. 06

    Training & Capacity Building

Training ophthalmologists and paramedical staff to widen the network of care.

  7. 07

    Health System Strengthening

Building the infrastructure so this work outlasts any single campaign.
